Sekar DMN is a full-length exploration of the borders between metal, gamelan, ambient and noise, composed and recorded in Indonesia between October 2017 and May 2018. Each track investigates its own territory. The Gilded Vulture is an atmospheric post-rock/black metal track constructed entirely of iron gamelan selonding recordings. Kebyar Death Cult 2018 is a breakneck Gong Kebyar sound collage, playing off the genre's competition culture. Itu Protozoa, Mas makes gamelan the basis for an immersive wall of dark noise. Finally, Kosong generates a 15-minute dark meditation from environmental sound, leaving gamelan behind altogether.
